10 Reasons For Mums And Dads To Start An Online Business & Quite The Rat Race

January 11, 2019 Ben

Let’s dive straight in…

1. You get to dance to your own beat

The absolute main reason that an online business is perfect for Mums and Dads is that it will allow you to work around your family commitments. Attending football practice, dance recitals, birthday celebrations, school assemblies, or just hanging out after school and talking about the day.

It also means there is no need for you to fork out for after-school care or daycare (or au pairs) which can be expensive and defeat the purpose of getting a job at all.

You also get to do it your way and make your own decisions rather than having to simply do as you have been told to do each day.

2. You will actually get to use your brain for something you love.

The digital world is constantly and rapidly changing. It is an exciting world to be a part of and there will be a lot to learn at the start. It will be challenging at times but that all adds to the fun and excitement.

We also know that recent reputable surveys have said that more than 85% of full-time employed people hate their jobs. Hate! Not just dislike, but hate! How can it be that we have set ourselves up to live a life where 8-12 hours per day we are unhappy. #palminface

3. The startup costs are relatively small in comparison to starting/buying a traditional business

The main investment we recommend you make is in your own training. The training that we know will change your life is through the SFM (The Six Figure Mentors). Being part of this educational community continues to be worth much more than the amount we have invested.

The SFM has provided us with not only world-class training & support but also all the tools & technology we needed to build our own websites, create graphics, advertise our business online and much, much more.

When we purchased our first traditional business (a cafe), the starting costs were in excess of $120,000 – an online business can be up and running with as little as $2,000!

4. You don’t actually need to have stock on hand or invest in a commercial warehouse

If you choose to start a business that involves affiliate marketing, you are in fact simply on-selling other peoples products, meaning that you will not have to convert your spare room into a storage unit for products.

There are also many drop-shipping options, as well as some MLM options that are actually run ethically and create successful owners.

5. You get to connect with like-minded people around the world

Being online means that your customers, colleagues, and mentors are not just limited to your current city. You get the opportunity to connect with amazing people from all over the world.

We have found that these people are also super motivated and enthusiastic about what they do which in turn keeps us on our toes. They love to share information and are super willing to help.

Just knowing that others have been or are in the same situation, and are now seeing success financially, but also from a lifestyle perspective – well, that’s pretty cool.

6. If you don’t know how to do something or simply don’t want to you can outsource

These days there are many professional sites that provide all sorts of services for next to nothing. If designing your own websites, checklists, logo, email automation, e-commerce strategy etc is something that you simply don’t want to do, then I can assure you there is someone out there who is willing to do it for as little as $5!

7. It provides the ultimate job security

Working for yourself means no one can fire you. Sure you might give yourself a good kick up the butt sometimes but at the end of the day, how much you put in is up to you. You will be able to adapt your schedule to work with what is going on in your life and that will be ok with you. 🙂

8. You get to work from wherever and whenever

The beauty of an online business is that as long as you have an internet connection you will be able to check in on how things are going. You can also schedule FB posts, blog posts, podcasts and a host of other things in advance.

The best advantage of this is that extended holidays are most certainly an option. No more taking just a few days or 2 weeks here and there when it suits your boss. You can choose to spend the whole summer holidays by the beach with the family or caravan up the coast for 8 weeks as we have done several times since quitting our corporate jobs.

9. You can find and pursue your passion

If health is your thing, then you will be able to develop your online business around health, likewise if books are your thing, then you can develop your online business around books. The possibilities are endless.

The only thing we recommend is that you keep an open mind when you are learning as you may just come across something different to what you initially intended that strikes a chord.

Imagine waking up every day and getting to do something you love. Remember the stat from the top – 85% of full-time workers hate their job. It’s time for a change. (here is some free training to get you started)

10. You can earn an income while you sleep

Being online means that many of your potential customers will be awake while you are asleep! The rest of the world keeps moving and you will keep earning income if you set your business up from the start to reach further than your local area.

I still remember the first day we woke up and checked our email to see we had earned $1,000 while we slept.

Since then (January 2014) we have set up multiple six-figure income streams and have absolutely no intention of stopping anytime soon.

Learn how to do all of this and much, much more with some free training.

If you like it, great, if not, you can simply unsubscribe and carry on with your day job.
